< BACK " Storm Bird "

New for 2005 - Available for charter in Southern Ireland and adjacent French and English coast.

1975 "Storm Bird"

This yacht, designed by Laurent Giles bears many resemblances in hull form to "Blue Leopard" also featured on this web-site. Bermudan Ketch rigged with a 120 h.p. motor she is a good sailing yacht and capable under power.

Her rig was renewed in 2002 as were her sails when she underwent a major refit and emerged classified under MCA regulations for Commercial Charter. Roller furling on both Jib and Staysail and with 'slab' reefing on Main and Mizzen she is easily handled by her crew of up to three yet still allows the guests to take part without working up too much of a 'sweat' before aperitifs or 'Sundowners'!

A Master Stateroom with double bed is aft and there are two additional Guest Twin cabins immediately forward; two showers and toilets are located either side of the companionway. With all the guest accommodation aft so that all the guests are separated from the crew and catering area which is forward of the spacious Deck Saloon. This has a large table which can seat eight guests in comfort as can the Cockpit area which is well cushioned with a large table.
